Oh Sylvia...

...Yes Mickey? Ya gotta love Dirty Dancing and all of that Patrick Swayze yumminess. But even moreso, you've got to love my sock monkey, Sylvia!

I ogled this gal from The Monkey House for 11 days while standing vigil at our One of a Kind Christmas Show booth. My sister silently observed my infatuation, and secretly bought Sylvia as my Christmas present. Have you ever seen such a great sock monkey before? I haven't.

So despite the fact my fiance thought I was completely nutso, Sylvia and I decided to take some portraits today...she fit perfectly on her little chair...and voila! I just may add this portrait to my Wall of Fame...

Jules & James rock A-town

Well I must say that I was quite impressed/excited/smitten when I went into zellers and spotted the uber cool line of clothes from Jules & James - a really cute line of clothes that zellers has taken on a la H&M like style. Funky dresses, pea coats, and bo-ho like tops caught my eye and I was zooming towards the racks despite my pledge to my hubby to stop buying frivolous items (he should know better then to let me enter a bargain mecca alone).

You see, it all started a few months ago...I saw an episode of cityline which explained the awesomeness of the clothes, but also in the same breath, told me that only select zellers will be carrying them. I sighed, and resigned myself to the fact that I was sure my little old zellers would not be showcasing the clothes. So it was quite a shock yesterday as I went in to peruse storage containers, and voila!

They also had a really cute line of jewelery, which I normally don't gravitate to, but I was on a roll, and I picked up a cute butterfly necklace and a little birdie choaker...yes to those who know me, and who know my unending love for all things birdie - you will not be surprised. The beauty part was the accessories were all on sale - eureka! So I encourage you all to head to your local zellers in search of this hidden gem...oh, and I still am storage container-less, but at least I look just a little cooler.

Kanvas Ink. launches chick 'lit' - a blog for creative chicks (& dudes)

Hallo to our fellow friends, fam, and of course, fabulous followers of the kanvas ink. empire!

This is our first blog entry, which we are going to try very hard to update weekly. You will either hear from moi (kelly) or joelle...the kanvas ink. chicks with wicked style (which as we have realized was a very tough tag line to place on the business, as we feel now that we can never leave the house in gym pants again!).

We wanted to start this blog to stay abreast of current cool design ideas, and also to really encourage ourselves to search out other great and inspiring design peeps. So for our first entry, I am feeling the overwhelming urge to show a little pic of the man that inspires me each and every day...and whose birthday it is today! I made this card a little while ago with a picture of my pal Clifford overtop a busy marketplace...he does look sheik, no?
